Hacettepe University has adopted the mission of nurturing individuals open to change and development through its research conducted in the fields of science, technology, visual and auditory arts, and the education it provides. Among our university's primary goals are; to improve the quality of education and teaching, to enhance research capacities and encourage research, to create and implement internal and external policies, and to increase the quality and diversity of the university's health services.
Since its establishment, Hacettepe University has been a leader in medical education and one of our country's most prestigious institutions in international health research. Given our university's leading position in health in Turkey, it is clear that it must also have a significant say in the fields of health economics and policy. Therefore, the importance of the Hacettepe University Health Economics and Health Policy Research and Application Center, established with the contribution of various units such as the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, is immense.
The emphasis on research and policy-making both internally and externally, which is among our university's primary objectives, is also among the fundamental purposes of this center. The Hacettepe University Health Economics and Health Policy Research and Application Center is a hub that guides both national and international health policymakers, creates platforms such as scientific meetings, congresses, and workshops where health reforms are discussed, and conducts research on solving health problems at the country and regional levels, planning and organizing health services.
The center's objectives include discussing innovative and improving solutions regarding health policies, creating models on these issues, conducting research, developing projects, contributing to the training of equipped human resources, and sharing the knowledge and experience through meetings and publications within national and international cooperation. Our center must play a significant role in the creation and implementation of national health policies and especially in analyzing the effects of various health reforms that have been experienced since 2003.
